MailBoy 2010 Beta Quick Start Guide
First, let me introduce the new features implemented of the current Beta version:
- New mailing engine. Far more advanced and optimized than the old one in MailBoy 2004.
- New message editor. A rich text editor, that will allow you easily create messages with formatted text and embedded images.
- Message and Subject personalization. You can customize the subject and the text of the message using any of the fields in your mail list.
- The program now can send the message in HTML Part and Text Part as well as Text Only messages.
- New mail list editor. Now you can use mail list with unlimited fields for each recipient. You can easily filter, sort, export, import your mail lists. You can also start and resume sendings whenever you want, even if the program was restarted or stopped.
- New exclude list feature. You can add the emails address you want excluded directly from the mail list dialog. In later release the exclude lists will be synchronized online and the subscribe/unscubscribe recipient process will be automated significantly.
- Send using SSL. This will allow you send using GMail's smtp servers.
- The program now saves your working environment. Though not fully implemented yet.
More features will be introduced in the later releases of the new version of MailBoy 2010 software. Such as:
- Scheduled sending. You will be able to set the time when you want the sending to start.
- Automated subscribe/unsubscribe links and forms, synchronized online.
- New FROM account editor.
- Save/Load/Switch working environments.
- And more...
All feedback will be highly appreciated!
OK, let's take a look at the main screen of the program. It is intentionally build to look like the old version of the software, because of its simplicity.

And here is the new Mail List dialog:

The boxes in the main screen are the same as in MailBoy 2004: FROM, TO, ATTACHMENTS, SUBJECT, MESSAGE.
You also have the Send and Options buttons, but the Pause and Stop buttons are missing. Stop button is replaced with Cancel button. It will stop the current sending. It is only enabled, when a sending is in progress.
The Pause button is removed, because there is no need for it any more as you can always start, stop and resume sending from wherever it was up to. The resuming is available when you keep the sending status in the Mail List dialog. If you clear the sending status in the Mail List dialog. The campaign will be reset and the sending will start from the first recipient in the list.
In the Options dialog you have the most important options in the current Beta version of MailBoy software. Others will be added in the next releases.

What you have now in the Options dialog is:
- Connections Count - the number of simultaneous sendings of the email.
- Direct Mailing - use this option to send directly to your recipients mail servers, bypassing your ISP's or other SMTP servers. Although it is still viable option for sending, it will not work in most of the cases when your IP address is dynamic.
- SMTP Mailing - this is the recommended way of sending mass emails nowadays. It provides the highest delivery rate and bypasses the recipients spam folders in most of the cases.
- Encoding - you can set you language setting, but leaving the default 'UTF-8' setting is recommended.
This is a brief overview of the new MailBoy 2010 software. In the following postings I will show you how to use all of the features in more details.
Please, help us improve the software by providing your valuable feedback!
